To deal with an external threat, America has created and deployed a special army which is supervised by the federal agency AmeriCorps. This threat is also of concern to the rest of the world, so it will surely follow in the footsteps of the U.S. Let’s see what this army is all about.
The U.S. White House takes its role in the conservation and care of the environment very seriously.
To this end, Joe Biden’s administration has sworn in the first graduating class of the American Climate Corps. Due to virtual meeting room restrictions, this commitment will be carried out at various events over the next few weeks.
The purpose of this army is to train and educate young people in green and sustainable activities to care for and restore the environment. They will then be placed in strategic locations to fulfill roles in climate conservation and resilience and clean energy.
An army to address climate and environmental issues
In a few weeks, the U.S. will deploy a corps of more than 9,000 young people to carry out activities aimed at caring for the environment and combating climate change. Such as the installation of solar panels and wind turbines, restoration of landscapes, etc.
As well as other actions to give the North American nation a more sustainable green future. As their oath states, they will work “on behalf of our nation and the planet, its inhabitants and all its species, for the better future we have in sight.”
The formation of this corps is one way to encourage young people to take an interest in pursuing green careers as a profession. Last April, the White House announced a partnership with Trades Futures, a non-profit green building group.
This is in order to prepare qualified personnel to fill the large shortage of green electricians. They would bring electricity obtained from renewable sources to various industrial processes, making them environmentally friendly and more sustainable.
Likewise, the White House foresees the creation of energy communities that would be located in old coal mining locations and towns, which would be managed by members of this environmental army to carry out their ecological recovery and other projects.
Where did this initiative come from and will it be a source of employment for young people?
This army, the American Climate Corps, is a product of one of Joe Biden’s promises during his presidential campaign, being one of his first announcements. But it took time while administrative steps were being taken and its funding was secured from government resources.
Some 20,000 young people are expected to join this large army during the first year of this program alone. To this end, recruitment periods will be opened, sequentially, which will appear on the American Climate Corps website.
In reference to pay, this project is being financed with the State’s own resources and those contributed by the U.S. Senate, in addition to those provided by private enterprise. It varies according to location and experience and ranges from $11 to $28 per hour.
So whether it’s managing forests and biodiversity, deploying clean energy such as photovoltaics or wind, or promoting sustainable farming practices, the American Climate Corps is building a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.
In conclusion, this special Army from America is being formed to confront the environmental problem that afflicts the world. And the rest of the world follows its performance with great attention, concerned about this threat that comes from outside and from within our country.
